What Can You Book at Disney World With a Budget of $5000?
You’re headed to Disney World, and you’re on a budget, but what can you get for $5000? I know $5000 sounds like a lot of money, but how far does that money go to Walt Disney World?
These 3 sample itineraries will help you determine what to expect and how to budget for a Disney vacation. There are a few constant variables in this article, including the set date, no discounts included, and no extra expenses like airfare are included. These sample itineraries are set for a June 2025 travel date. Note that prices may vary depending on the time of year. Additionally, if discounts are available for select dates, the total cost of the trip can be impacted. Finally, these sample budgets do not account for expenses outside Disney World, including airfare, gas, off-site hotels, grocery deliveries, and more.

Disney World Trip 1
2 Adults, 2 Kids (9 and under)
5-Night Stay at Pop Century Resort

Quick Service Disney Dining Plan
A Disney World Vacation Package bundles your park ticket and hotel room in one complete purchase. For 2025, the Quick Service Dining Plan is priced at $59.14 for adults and $24.70 for kids nine and under. If you book a vacation package the dining plan can be easily added and eases the stress of paying for meals out of pocket in the parks.
Now that you’ve purchased your hotel, tickets, and dining plan, let’s discuss the Lightning Lanes. You can purchase those skip-the-line benefits that come with Multipass and Single-pass Lightning Lanes a few weeks before your trip if you want to use them to help you bypass the main ride queues in exchange for shorter ride lines. But for now, we’re skipping the Lightning Lanes and assuming that your younger kids will be more than happy with rides that project much shorter waits.

Arrival Day
On the day you check into your Pop Century hotel, you can immediately go to one of the Disney World water parks, like Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, and enjoy a free water park day. Starting in 2025, guests staying in Disney-owned resorts, including Disney Vacation Club properties, will get a free park ticket to the water parks on their arrival day. But only on the arrival day. This perk is a great way to extend your vacation experience without impacting your budget.
Head back to your hotel to get rested up for your first full Disney World Day. Be sure to place a grocery delivery order to be delivered to your resort for a quick grab-and-go breakfast and snacks to take with you into the parks.
Day 1 – Magic Kingdom
Your first official park day will be spent at Magic Kingdom. Start your day in Fantasyland with a quick breakfast. Spend 4 snack credits for breakfast on warm cinnamon rolls or a creme brulee croissant from Gaston’s Tavern. After breakfast, start with the rides in Fantasyland, which project shorter waits. You can check the wait time on your My Disney Experience App. While in Fantasyland, stop by Sir Mickey’s Gift Shop for free Pixie dusting for kids of all ages.
For lunch, head to Columbia Harbour House in Liberty Square to pick up a surf and turf meal with your quick-service dining credits. After lunch, visit the attractions in Frontierland and Adventureland. For an extra bit of immersive fun, check out a Pirates Adventure Treasures of the Seven Seas, a free interactive scavenger hunt.
For dinner, use your quick-service credits at Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland, which serves up a lot of basic theme park fare the kids will enjoy. Then you spend the evening at the Tomorrowland attractions, which don’t have long waits, especially in the evening. Then, you can stick around for the Happily Ever After Fireworks.
Day 2 – Epcot
Start your morning with a quick bite to eat in your room, utilizing the grocery delivery you placed on your arrival day. You’ll want to use your snack credits to eat around the World Showcase in Epcot, including food booths during the festivals, when available.
The good thing about Epcot is that it has rides that are good for all ages and don’t typically have high wait times. For lunch, head to Connections Eatery and Cafe for a variety of burgers, chicken, and pizza that will please everyone, especially kids.
After lunch, you can spend your afternoon at attractions your kids will love, like Beauty and the Beast Sing-along, Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival, and Journey of Water inspired by Water. Check your My Disney Experience app to find time for character meet-and-greets. Don’t forget to stop by the Kidcot fun stops in every World Showcase Pavilion. Your kids will love the Finding Dory’s Friends Scavenger Hunt located inside the Seas Pavilion.
For dinner, stop at Regal Eagle Smokehouse inside the American Adventure Pavilion for a hearty barbecue. And end the day watching the Luminous Fireworks show.
Day 3 – Rest Day
It’s time to take a much-needed break and enjoy our hotel amenities. Breaks are especially important if you have little ones who aren’t used to long park days and have tired little feet. A break day allows you to sleep in and enjoy your resort pool, playground, and arcade.
You can use your quick service credits for lunch at your hotel at the Everything Pop Food Court. You can also hop on the Skyliner to eat lunch at another Skyliner or Epcot area resorts. After lunch, you can head to one of the Disney World mini golf courses, like Fantasia Gardens or Winter Summerland, for a rousing round of free interactive putt-putt. In 2025, you’ll have a free mini-goal that you can take advantage of before 4 pm that comes with your vacation package.
After minigolf, you can head to Disney Springs for shopping and dinner. Or you can head back to Pop Century to enjoy free resort activities like Movies Under the Stars, Nightly Campfire, and pool games. Be sure to check your hotel schedule, which should be posted in the lobby or near the main pool, to find out what specific activities are available during your stay.

Day 4 – Animal Kingdom
Animal Kingdom can be a great bookend for a trip when you’re looking for a park that’s a bit more easygoing than the other parks. For breakfast, you may want to use your snack credits for a pastry from Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery in the Africa section of the park.
Animal Kingdom doesn’t have many rides, but your kids will enjoy experiencing Kilimanjaro Safaris in the Africa section of the park. While in Africa, check out the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, a free self-guided tour through several exhibits with zebras and gorillas. In the Asia section of the park, you will find the Maharaja Jungle Trek, another self-guided tour with exhibits featuring tigers, komodo dragons, and more.
Your kids will love the Wilderness Explorers Program, where they will embark on a free journey to collect badges throughout the park and learn about nature. There are over 25 badges you can collect, and to start your adventure, find one of the Wilderness Explorer Troop Leaders located throughout the park to pick up your Wilderness Explorers Handbook.
You’ll also want to hitch a ride on the Wildlife Express Train in Africa to check out the different offerings at Rafiki’s Planet Watch. The kids can enjoy the affection section petting zoo and the free animation experience. For lunch, you can dine at Restaurantosaurs in Dinoland USA and then let your kids play at the boneyard.
Fill the rest of your day by attending shows like Festival of the Lion King, Feathered Friends in Flight, and Finding Nemo the Big Blue and Beyond. For dinner, you can grab a bite to eat at Satuli Canteen, Flame Tree Barbecue, or Pizzafari. Or, because Animal Kingdom closes early (often 6 pm), you can use your final dining credits at a quick service location in Disney Springs or one of the other Disney resorts.

Single Pass Lightning Lane Passes for Tron, Flight of Passage and Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind

You’ll stay five nights in a Standard Little Mermaid-themed room at Art of Animation, a value resort along the Skyliner. Since this family has an older child, we’ll purchase Hollywood Studios Afterhours Event tickets, giving the family access to Hollywood Studios for three hours after the park closes. After-hours events have short ride lines and include an assortment of complimentary snacks.
Since Rise of the Resistance is available during the Hollywood Studios Afterhours event, we won’t purchase a Single Pass Lightning Lane for this ride. Sample Itinerary
Day 1 – Animal Kingdom + Magic Kingdom
We will take advantage of the Park Hopper Tickets and split the day between Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom. For this trip, we’ve only paid for Single Pass Lightning Lanes, not Multipass Lightning Lanes, which tend to help you pass the main line for other rides. However, many of the rides at Animal Kingdom tend to have low wait times throughout the day.
Grab a quick breakfast and coffee from Creature Comforts, which will cost you around $35. Then, you can explore the area around the Tree of Life, including It’s Tough to Be a Bug. After you’ve used your Single Pass Lightning Lane at Avatar Flight of Passage, grab a quick lunch at Satuli Canteen. Satu’li Canteen has a selection of customizable bowls and the infamous cheeseburger pods. Your meal will cost around $60.
Then, we’ll head to the Magic Kingdom to use our Tron Light Cyclerun Single Pass Lightning Lane. Your big kid will like exploring other Magic Kingdom rides like Space Mountain and Haunted Mansion. If you want to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, you can join the virtual queue on the My Disney Experience app.
For dinner, you can book a reservation at Skipper Canteen in Adventureland. Three entrees and sodas will cost about $105, not including tip, bringing your daily food total to around $200.
Day 2 – Rest Day + Hollywood Studios Afterhours
Start your day with a rest day to ensure everyone is well rested for the Afterhours event. Sleep in and take advantage of your hotel pool. Grab breakfast from Landscape of Flavors, the quick-service dining location at Art of Animation. Your breakfast will cost around $50 for everybody.
After a leisurely day at the pool, hop on the Skyliner to Caribbean Beach Resort for a Caribbean-inspired lunch from Banana Cabana. Your lunch will cost around $70. The after-hours event tickets let guests into the park as early as 7 p.m.
When you arrive at Hollywood Studios, you can grab a quick bite from Fairfax Fare, which costs around $60. Then, you can start your evening of rides or enjoy the Fantasmic show. After the park closes to regular guests, you can knock out as many rides as possible while snacking on free Mickey Ice Cream, sodas, and popcorn. At the end of the day, you’ve spent around $200.
Day 3 – Rest Day
Since you were up late last night, take the opportunity to sleep in, eat a leisurely breakfast in your hotel room, and then head to Disney Springs for some shopping. You may want to make a reservation for bowling and lunch at Splitsville, which will cost around $85.
Hop on the boat at Disney Springs and head to Port Orleans French Quarter resort to pick up Mickey beignets from Scat Cats Club Cafe. An order of 6 Mickey beignets with your choice of dipping sauce will cost around $12.
Head back to Disney Springs for dinner from the Polite Pig Quick Service. Entrees and sodas will cost around $75, bringing your end-of-the-day total to less than $200.
Day 4 – Epcot + Hollywood Studios
Start your day with a quick lunch in your room before hopping on the Skyliner and heading to Epcot. Epcot doesn’t have as many thrilling rides, but you may want to begin your day at Soarin for an iconic ride around the world. After using your Lightning Lane on Cosmic Rewind, you’ll head to your lunch reservation at Space 220, a space-themed prefix table service restaurant. This restaurant is a bit of a splurge, coming in at $165 before tips.
After you’ve finished your lunch, hop back on the Skyliner to Hollywood Studios to finish your Disney World trip. This is a great time to hit up any rides you missed during the Afterhours event or to watch shows that weren’t available. You can grab kid’s meals from Woody’s Lunchbox for dinner for around $35. The end-of-day cost is around $200.
The final cost for your entire trip, including meals, is around $4,979.92
Disney World Trip 3
2 Adults
5 Night Polynesian Village Standard Theme Park View Room
2 Day Park Tickets
Single Pass Lightning Lane for Tron, Mine Train, and Cosmic Rewind.
Total Cost: $3,271.56
This Disney World trip is a short weekend getaway for two adults, and we’re thinking big. We’ll book a standard theme park view room at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Staying at the Polynesian Resort gives us easy access to the monorail, which will quickly get us to the two parks we want to prioritize, Epcot and Magic Kingdom.
If our short trip allows for it, we might be able to use Extended Evening Hours at one of those parks. Extended Evening Hours gives deluxe resort guests an extra two hours in a park on a certain night.

After a 5-hour tour, take the monorail back to the Polynesian resort to join the Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto waitlist. Trader Sam’s is a popular lounge with interactive cocktails, and you may want to split a few cocktails to save money. Drinks at Trader Sam’s cost around $50.
After your break at Trader Sam’s, head back to Magic Kingdom to use your Tron and Seven Dwarfs Lightning Lanes. After a few rides, go back to your hotel to take advantage of that theme park view by ordering some quick-service food from Capt. Cooks, which will cost around $50. Take it back to your room. You can enjoy watching the Happily Ever After Fireworks from your balcony while enjoying your meal.
