3 More Weeks – House Update

In 3 weeks we will close on our new home. So much has happened over the past 2 weeks. They installed all the doors, trim, counter tops, sinks, faucets, back splash, toilets, and air conditioner and painted all of the interior.  We also have a driveway and back patio and even house numbers.

We had a little back and forth with the builder about some troubles with had with our lot premium and they offered us $3000 worth of “non structural” upgrades. Basically, appliances and blinds. So we went back and forth between getting a new washer and dryer or blinds for the whole house. We finally decided on the whole house blinds because we already have a washer and dryer. We had planned on buying a different type of blinds for the house but we settled on the free blinds because, we’ll they are free. It ultimately saves us money which was the point of the concession from the builder.

So, we are finalizing the details for our mortgage, home owners insurance, inspections, movers, etc… Since we are working without a real estate agent we are a little nervous we will forget something but we have done a ton of research and have great support people helping us with all of the details.

We’ve started packing and purging and these next few weeks are going to be so busy but we are so excited.
