A Comprehensive Guide to the Disney Dining Plan

·

The Disney Dining Plan has returned. For arrivals starting on January 9th, 2024, you can add the Disney Dining Plan to your vacation package. What is the Disney Dining Plan, how much does it cost, and what options do you have? Here’s everything you need to know.

What is the Disney Dining Plan?

If you stay at Disney World Resort hotel, you can purchase a Disney Dining Plan to include prepaid meals. You receive a certain number of “credits” that you can use for table service or quick service dining at Walt Disney World (depending on your plan). With the Disney Dining Plan, guests can budget and plan their daily spending by purchasing a set number of meals and snacks daily.

Pro Planning Tip: We recommend using Jessica Lieb with ET Family Travel to book your Disney vacation!

How Much Does the Disney Dining Plan Cost?

There are two Disney Dining Plan options: the Quick Service Dining Plan, which costs $94.28/per adult per night and $26.69/per child (ages 3-9) per night, and the standard Dining Plan, which costs $57.01/per adult per night and $23.38/per child (ages 3-9) per night.

Guests ages 2 and under don’t require park tickets, therefore don’t have the option for a dining plan. Kids under 3 are welcome to eat off their adult’s plate, but their meals will need to be purchased separately.

Disney Dining Plan Options

Two options are the Quick Service Dining Plan and the Standard Dining Plan. How do they differ? How much do they cost, and what do you get for the price? Each plan allows you to purchase credits per each night of your stay. If you book a five-night package with a Disney Dining Plan, guests aged three and up will receive five table service meals, five quick service meals, and five snacks or non-alcoholic beverages that can be used anytime during your stay.

Disney Dining Plan

The Disney Dining Plan is ideal for families who want to experience a variety of dining experiences. Guests may choose from either quick-service or table-service locations (including character meals.)

This dining plan includes:

  • 1 Quick Service meal per night
  • 1 Table Service meal per night
  • 1 Snack per night
  • 1 Resort-refillable drink mug*

*eligible for refills from self-service beverage islands at any Disney Resort hotel Quick-Service location

Quick Service Dining Plan

The Quick-Service Dining Plan is ideal for families who want quick and flexible meal options on the go.

This dining plan includes:

  • 2 Quick Service Meals per night
  • 1 Snack per night
  • 1 Resort-refillable drink mug*

*eligible for refills from self-service beverage islands at any Disney Resort hotel Quick-Service location

Dining Plan Details

  • All meals include a beverage. Beverages include milkshakes, smoothies, hot chocolate, soda, coffee or tea. Guests under 21 years of age may choose a nonalcoholic beverage.
  • Guests ages 3 to 9 must order from a children’s menu, where available.
  • Gratuity is not included in the costs above (except at dinner shows and Cinderella’s Royal Table.)
  • The dining plan can be added to your package at any time, but pricing is subject to change until booked.
  • Everyone on the package must either have the plan or not; you cannot split it.
  • This is for packages only, not ticket-only.
  • Not all restaurants qualify, and some require more than 1 credit for a meal.
  • Even though it says “per night,” you don’t have to use the credits on the appropriate days. You have a total of credits and can use them however you want to throughout your trip.
  • Whatever you don’t use, you lose. They do not carry over to another trip.

How to Use Disney Dining Plan Credits

To use your dining plan credits, you will scan your Disney Resort ID (MagicBand, MagicBand+, MagicMobile pass, or Key to the World card) at any restaurant, kiosk, or cart that takes the Disney Dining Plan. After you scan your ID, the appropriate number of credits will be deducted from your account.

Your Disney Dining Plan is activated upon check-in to your Disney Resort hotel. Access to your credits ends at midnight when you check out your hotel.

Pro Tip: Double-check how your dining credits are being applied to your bill when checking out. Especially when mobile ordering, the app may try to apply snack credits when you don’t want them applied. You can easily remove them by editing your order.

How to Keep Track of Your Disney Dining Plan Credits

Your credit balance is available at the bottom of the receipt after “paying” for a meal or snack. Your credit balance can also be checked through the My Disney Experience app under the “My Plans” section, then select your resort reservation and choose the Dining Plan option.
