Do you know a kid that loves to tinker, build and create?

I have 4 boys that all love to tinker, build and create which is why we love Tinkering Lab‘s Electric Motors Catalyst set. This set provides over 50 components: real motors, real hardware, and real wood. It also includes a deck of 10 Challenge Cards that inspire kids to design, build, and test their own inventions.

Jude immediately set out to create Challenge 3, Create a machine that draws curvy lines. After following the basic instructions he was able to complete his first challenge. This introductory challenge was a great way for him the be introduced to the technology and test out the various parts. After completing his first challenge he was immediately inspired to create new designs without instructions.

What I really love about this set is the lack of instructions, it’s not a step-by-step tutorial that guide you to create specific machines but rather gives kids license to be creative and think outside the box. All of the challenges are a way children can practice problem solving. There are basic instruction and safety guidelines that help keep kids safe and explains the use of the elements they have to use otherwise there is very little guidance in the creation process.
