MOM Confession #CBSMOM
Confession: I use my kids as an ice breaker.
I can be pretty shy, especially in new environments but my kids could make small talk with a garden gnome.
We’re at a street festival or some other large event, I send my kids ahead of me and encourage them to engage in conversation for me. I tell myself that I know they would like to participate in the activity so I make them do it but really I’m just a little too timid to do it myself.
I guess that’s one of the benefits of having an outgoing child, he doesn’t think twice about meeting new people. Maybe I should teach him that whole, “don’t talk to strangers” bit.
I’m just going to keep telling myself that it’s building character in my kids. That’s OK, Right?
Being a mom is sometimes embarrassing but always entertaining, that’s why I’m looking forward to watching the new CBS comedy, MOM.
CBS MOM
On Monday, September 23rd at 9:30 ET/8:30 CT, CBS is airing a new comedy called MOM.
From Executive Producer, Chuck Lorre (Mike & Molly, The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men), MOM is a comedy starring Anna Faris as a newly sober single mom raising two kids. The show centers on Christy (Faris) as she battles with alcoholism, starting her new life and reconnecting with her estranged mother, Bonnie (Allison Janney).
This looks like it will be a funny and edgy show. Just watch the preview below:

I use my kids as an icebreaker sometimes too. It can just be easier if you are trying to meet another mom.
I didn’t know the series was coming out. I will have to dvr it.
I use my kids as an ice breaker too…it makes it easier to make a connection sometimes. Interesting series for TV. What ever happened to “Kate and Ally”? 🙂
This show looks hilarious! I was just watching What’s Your Number last night. Anna Faris cracks me up! It will be cool seeing her as a mom.
I’m also very shy and should use my toddler as an ice breaker more. He is definitely not shy at all!
