Family Day

We aren’t planning on traveling very much this year. Having 3 small kids makes it difficult, and stressful to travel so we’ve opted to stay close to home. The added benefit? We save money too!

Jude is on spring break this week and yesterday Joe took a vacation day so we could have a “family day”. In general, we spend a lot of time together as a family anyway but “family day” was a specifically designated day to focus on our kids and family. It’s easy to get caught up in to-do lists and errands that we often miss life as a family.

We had a leisure day at the park and spent the majority of the day outside soaking in the joy of family. Luckily, the weather cooperated and we were also able to soak up some warm sunshine too.

There was the occasional meltdown (me included) but the day was genuinely peaceful and relaxing.

It was refreshing to slow down and embrace just how blessed I am to have such a wonderful family.
