Planning a trip to Disney World should be fun and exciting; however, with so many options and decisions to be made, it can become overwhelming. Disney World has four theme parks, two water parks, more than 20 on-site hotels and more than 200 restaurants to choose from. The best way to plan a magical vacation is to use a travel agent specializing in planning Disney. A travel agent will help you navigate these decisions while answering all your Disney questions.
How to Plan a Disney Vacation
Here are a few questions to ask yourself as you plan your Disney vacation.
1. When do you want to go to Disney World?
You may have to plan around work or school schedules, but if you are flexible, you can plan your trip when the crowds and pricing are at their lowest. You may also want to plan your trip around the weather. Weather in central Florida is fairly hot and humid year-round; however, late fall and winter can bring some slightly cooler weather. The busiest times of the year are around Christmas and summer break when most kids are out of school.
2. What is your budget?
It can be hard to determine if you aren’t aware of typical Disney pricing. Additionally, pricing at Disney World can fluctuate based on the time of year and projected park attendance. Your budget will vary depending on the choices you make. You can plan an extravagant weeklong trip with all the extras or a short, budget-friendly trip. This is where using a travel agent can really help you out.
3. Where do you want to stay during your trip?
While it may be a dream to stay on-site at a luxury hotel, your budget may accommodate deluxe resorts. However, Disney World offers over 20 on-site hotels that range in price. You may even want to consider staying off-property to save a little money. However, staying on property does come with its perks. Talking over these decisions with your travel agent will ensure you make the best decision for your family.
4. What are your must-do activities?
There’s so much to see and do at Disney World, but you can’t possibly do it all on one trip. Making a list of must-do activities will help you plan a Disney Itinerary that will allow you to get things done during your trip. Knowing what you want to do will also help you decide which type of park tickets to purchase. You may want to buy the Park Hopper tickets that will enable you to visit multiple parks per day.
How Early Should You Start Planning Your 2025 Disney World Vacation?
When it comes to a Disney World vacation, it’s never too early to start planning. Vacation packages and hotels are available for all of 2025. I recommend starting planning your Disney Vacation NOW while there is still plenty of availability for next year. As the year progresses, the hotel you prefer may not be available. Many popular dates, especially around the holidays and special events, will tend to sell out sooner.
Another reason you may want to book your trip earlier is to avoid price increases. Disney seems to raise ticket prices yearly by approximately $5-10. You don’t have to worry if you’ve already booked your trip when Disney announces the inevitable price increases. Your price is locked in and will not be affected by the price hike.
What You Need to Know About Disney World Promotions?
Disney doesn’t guarantee that it will release promotions throughout the year. However, it does tend to release similar promotions during specific times of the year. They typically release a special promotion during the summer and increase prices in the fall. I do not recommend you wait until a promotion is released to book because you may miss out on booking your preferred hotel. Disney usually lets you update your vacation package to the new price if a promotion is released after you book.
Are you worried that a new promotional offer will be released when you book your Disney World vacation, and you’ll miss out on the savings? Don’t worry—when you book with a travel agent, they will monitor new promotions and automatically apply any available discounts.
