Trader Joe’s Meatball Subs

·

This is such a simple meal and makes my whole family happy. I’ve shared this recipe on my Instagram several months ago (I think it’s saved in the highlights) so you can watch the step-by-step process over there. But in all honesty, it’s so ridiculously simple you don’t really need to watch me make it.

We typically serve these subs with either oven fries or chips and a salad or fruit. This is perfect for nights when we have a lot going on because I know it’s quick and easy to make and everyone will eat it. I get all of my ingredients for this dinner at Trader Joe’s but you can easily use items found at other stores.

Ingredients

  • Trader Joe’s Frozen Meatballs
  • Trader Joe’s Marinara
  • Trader Joe’s Brioche Hot Dog Buns
  • Trader Joe’s Shredded Mozzarella

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Add meatballs and cover with marinara sauce to a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cover the pot and cook for several minutes until the meatballs are completely thawed.
  3. Place hotdog buns in a baking dish
  4. After the meatballs are fully thawed remove them one at a time and cut them in half, place 3 halves in each bun. Continue until all buns are filled. (you may have a few leftover meatballs)
  5. Drizzle a little extra sauce over each sub
  6. Topped each sub with a handful of mozzarella cheese
  7. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted
