Goosebumps 2 Gummy Bear Challenge

· · ·

The Goosebumps 2 digital release is on Christmas day, December 25th at Movies Anywhere and to celebrate we took the Goosebumps 2 Gummy Bear Challenge. In our challenge box, we received an abundance of Haribo Gummy Bears and supplies to make Gummy Bear Bark, Slime, Mocktails, Cookies, and a super fun “Science with Slappy” science experiment.

We started with a science experiment where we placed individual gummy bears in a clear container filled with different liquid solutions to see how the gummy bears would react. We placed our gummy bears in salted water, club soda, and white vinegar. The boys really enjoyed watching the gummy bears grow and dissolve.

Next, we tried making gummy bear slime by melting gummy bears and then mixing in powdered sugar and cornstarch. Unfortunately, our slime turned out more like chewed gum and less like slime.

Finally, we decided to make Holiday Gummy Bear Bark.

Holiday Gummy Bear Bark

The boys were most excited about making Gummy Bear Bark. I mean gummy bears and chocolate, yum. It was so easy to make too. All you need is some chocolate, Haribo Gummy Bears, and a microwave. See the recipe below.

Holiday Gummy Bear Bark

Course Dessert
Cuisine American
Prep Time 30 minutes
Total Time 30 minutes

  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 2 bags Haribo gummy bears 5oz bag
  • 1/2 cup while choclate chips
  • 1 tbsp holiday sprinkles

  1. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside

  2. Melt both milk-chocolate and dark-chocolate chips in separate bowls in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each interval, until completely smooth.

  3. Pour the milk chocolate onto the parchment paper and use a spatula to smooth it into an even layer. Add dollops of the dark chocolate on top of the milk chocolate and use a toothpick to swirl the two together. Place gummy bears on the chocolate

  4. Place in the fridge to allow the chocolate to set, about 15 minutes.

  5. Melt the white chocolate in a Ziploc bag in the microwave (also in 30-second intervals), snip the corner to make it into a decorating bag and drizzle the white chocolate on top of the bark. Add sprinkles and decorate as you wish.

  6. Return the bark to the fridge for another 15 minutes to set.

  7. Transfer bark to a cutting board and cut up bark into desired pieces. Store in an airtight container at room temperature until ready to serve.
