English Muffin Pizzas – Easy Kid Meals
My kids love to help in the kitchen and I love teaching my boys how to cook and bake. My hope is that I can teach them to cook well enough that they will make great meals for themselves and eventually cook for others. I’ve found that by giving my kids a chance to help in the kitchen it gives them a sense of responsibility and pride.
The boys are tracked out for their fall break so this week I’m having them cook a lot of our lunches. We’ve picked quick and easy meals that kids can cook themselves and will also like to eat. Today we made English Muffin Pizzas. I often cook these a day before and pack them in the boys’ lunches for school. They are always a big hit. Simon helped me make lunch today. He did everything except put them in the oven.
Here’s how we make English Muffin Pizzas:
Ingredients:
- English Muffins
- Marinara Sauce
- Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- Toppings
Preheat oven the 375 degrees Fahrenheit
Step 1: Cut English muffins in half lengthwise. We usually make 1 muffin per person, so that’s 2 mini pizzas per person.
Step 2: Add a spoonful or marinara sauce to each slice of muffin. Then using the back of the spoon spread it around. Don’t add too much or your pizzas will be soggy.
Step 3: Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
Step 4: Add toppings. We typically stick with traditional pepperoni but you could add other toppings.
Step 5: Bake for 10 minutes
Enjoy!
