My Favorite New Christmas Tradition

As we started our family and the kids got old enough to participate in traditions we accidentally started a new Christmas family tradition and I love it, Christmas Picture Books. Every year we buy one or two new Christmas books to add to our collection. I keep all of our special Christmas books packed away with the Christmas decorations during they year. Then when we bring everything out to decorate our house I fill our book basket with our collection of Christmas picture books.

The boys love looking through the books and almost every day we read one or more book from our collection. Each boy has their favorite book. I think we own at least three different books of The Night Before Christmas.

This year I added Eric Carle’s Dream Snow. Occasionally, we will find some Christmas books at the library but in December they are actually pretty hard to come by. I have a separate wish list on Amazon for books I’d like to add to our collection.

Our families know how much we love Christmas books so sometimes they gift new books to our collection. It’s such a special way to spend time together as a family, reading books by the fire with a Juicy Juice in hand, and making new memories of Christmas.
