Getting my boys to slow down and brush their teeth is a challenge. We’ve tried everything including having them race against each other to see who can get ready for bed the quickest. However, having them race means they don’t do a very thorough job brushing their teeth.
Having them work together toward a common goal is usually the best course of action. So now, at bedtime we encourage them work work together to get ready for bed, including brushing their teeth, so they can earn an extra book during story time. Sometimes this method works but sometimes they get distracted from the job of brushing their teeth. So we took their interest in working together and combined it with the new Oral-B Disney Dimer App and now brushing their teeth might actually prevent some cavities.
- Download the app on your iPhone, iPad or Android
- Scan a Crest or Oral-B Product to unlock new images.
- When the timer starts a new image will be revealed over the course of the 2 minutes
- Every time your child brushes they can collect a new image.
With the Disney Timer App each boy has a profile which is represented by a Disney character of their choosing. Noah picked Mickey Mouse and Jude chose Iron Man. So we let them take turns. One kid gets to use their profile and the other gets to scan the product to reveal the special picture. They can scan their toothpaste or toothbrush all of which are different characters so they can collect many different images in their picture book. They love it. And I love it too because I know they are taking the time to properly brush their teeth and not just rush through the routine.
