Paleo Bean-less Chili

·

Chili is a winter time staple in our house and I must admit I have a pretty awesome chili recipe. It’s kind of a Cincinnati chili because it has a hit of sweetness to it, which by the way makes it awesome.

Paleo Bean-less Cincinnati Chili

Ingredients:

  • 2lbs- ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 cup carrots, chopped
  • 2 tbls chili powder
  • 1 (28oz) can diced tomato
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1.5 tbls cocoa
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Directions:

Over Medium-High heat cook Onions and Garlic until tender

Add Carrots and Celery and cook for 1-2 minutes

Add Ground Beef and brown until thoroughly cooked

Add Ground Beef mixture and remaining ingredients to a large pot or slow cooker and simmer on low for 1-4 hours.

We like to top our chili with avocado or serve over a baked sweet potato.
