Tweetsie Letterland Days 2012
On May 9, 10, 16 and 17 when Tweetsie Railroad transforms into the magical world of Letterland. (Note: May 9th + 10th are already sold out!) Letterland is a child-friendly phonics program that uses a multi-sensory approach combining phonics and storytelling. From Talking Tess’s train to Eddie Elephant’s Gem Mine, each area of the park is an opportunity for children to learn and play!
While Tweetsie Railroad is known for its Wild West adventure and steam locomotives they offer many fun and educational special events throughout the year. Like the Learning Express, which will be offered every Friday starting April 20 until May 25 and every Friday after Labor Day through October 26. The Learning Express provides a full day of fun at Tweetsie Railroad including a ride on the Learning Express Train, which pulls out of Main Street several times daily. This special ride presents a unique opportunity for teachers and parents to make history, math and science memorable, exciting and fun. In addition, Tweetsie offers curriculum guides for parents and teachers at Tweetsie.com
I really wish we were able to make it to Letterland Days but our schedule doesn’t permit it this year. Perhaps we can visit sometime for the Learning Express. Tweestie is a wonderful place that any kid or adult would love to visit and I really admire their dedication to incorporating educational aspects to the fun.
