I know that in a few months Jude will be ready for potty training but until then we are embracing our use of cloth diapers. I love using cloth diapers and can’t imagine not using them. We’ve tried many different styles and brands of diapers and we have only begun to scratch the surface.
Recently I was thrilled to learn of a new online baby boutique, Sweetbottoms Baby, because not only do they have a wonderful selection of cloth diapers but they are local. Last week I had the opportunity to visit with Beth, the owner of Sweetbottoms Baby to learn more about her and her shop. She has a wonderful set-up in her home where local customers can come browse all of items in stock and she can give you a personal shopping experience. It was such a warm environment that would make any first time mom or experienced cloth diaper use feel equally welcome. She offers so many great items in addition to cloth diapers like baby carriers, teething necklaces, natural baby care and more.
She gave us the Thirsties Duo Diaper to try out and I am really enjoying using this diaper. In the past we’ve used Thristies covers, which I really like, so I was excited to try out the new pocket diaper. I particularly like that it is really soft inside and all of the possible leak locations are well sealed. Additionally, I like the idea of 2 different size adjustable diapers, it offers more of a structured fit across the span of sizes.

I love the summer Olympics and plan to watch as many of the events as possible. I’m completely in awe of the athletes that train tirelessly for years in hope of winning the gold medal for their country. I’m even more in awe of the athletes that are also mothers. Athletes like Volleyball star, Kerri…
We took the boys to see A Snow White Christmas at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts. We loved the re-imagined story and Panto style (audience interactive) of the production. The show was geared toward children but was filled with modern music and humor that were designed to keep the parents entertained as…
Sometimes it’s the little practical things that make for the best gifts. Like, at night when Joe charges his cell phone is lies on the floor where is could be stepped on or the cord could be tripped over. So when I saw CP Docks I knew he needed one. Joe places his phone on…
We took another homeschool field trip this week. We went to Chapel Hill, NC to visit the Kidzu Children’s Museum. I found a Kidzu Museum Groupon that allowed 4 of us to get in for essentially half price. I’ve seen a lot about Kidzu Museum on social media over the past few years and have…
I know it’s not even Halloween yet but it is time to start planning your family Christmas Cards. With the addition of our new little once (he should be here any day now) I’m planning on using one of our first photos as a family of 5 for our Christmas card. Shutterfly has a really…
Joe and I watch a lot of movies at home. Like most parents we don’t have a lot of time or money to go out on elaborate dates so we love checking out new movies, especially absurd and funny movies. Needless to say I was very excited to review “Extract”the newest film from writer-director, Mike…
