I know that in a few months Jude will be ready for potty training but until then we are embracing our use of cloth diapers. I love using cloth diapers and can’t imagine not using them. We’ve tried many different styles and brands of diapers and we have only begun to scratch the surface.
Recently I was thrilled to learn of a new online baby boutique, Sweetbottoms Baby, because not only do they have a wonderful selection of cloth diapers but they are local. Last week I had the opportunity to visit with Beth, the owner of Sweetbottoms Baby to learn more about her and her shop. She has a wonderful set-up in her home where local customers can come browse all of items in stock and she can give you a personal shopping experience. It was such a warm environment that would make any first time mom or experienced cloth diaper use feel equally welcome. She offers so many great items in addition to cloth diapers like baby carriers, teething necklaces, natural baby care and more.
She gave us the Thirsties Duo Diaper to try out and I am really enjoying using this diaper. In the past we’ve used Thristies covers, which I really like, so I was excited to try out the new pocket diaper. I particularly like that it is really soft inside and all of the possible leak locations are well sealed. Additionally, I like the idea of 2 different size adjustable diapers, it offers more of a structured fit across the span of sizes.

We’re closing in on the 1 year anniversary of The B Keeps Us Honest. I can hardly believe how much this site has grown and how much I have learned this past year. Recently, I launched the I Heart NC campaign and have since made some wonderful connections with local businesses, bloggers and readers. I’ve…
Joe prefers to wear is wallet in his front pocket. Apparently, sitting on a wallet in your back pocket can cause pack pain. Also, it’s safe to keep it in your front pocket. But with the addition of his cell phone and keys that makes for full pockets. I knew they made wallets that were…
On Saturday we set off to visit the NC Zoo in Asheboro, which is about an hour and half drive west of Raleigh. I was super excited because it my the first time to the zoo since I was a child and of course it was the first trip the zoo for Jude. I won’t…
Every year at Christmas my mother-in-law fills or stockings with Moravian Cookie goodness. I always look forward to those cookies. There’s something about Christmas that makes me want Moravian Cookies. But you don’t have to wait until Christmas to enjoy Moravian Cookies or any of Salem Baking Company’s delicious baked goodies. We received a box…
Any parent of a newborn can tell you that sleep is a rarity. It’s pretty rough for the first few weeks but eventually you adjust to the middle of the night wakings and functioning on less than optimal sleep. Not only will we be re-entering the “parents of a newborn” stage but Joe is a…
For months now Jude has been obsessing with pumpkins, trick or treating, and all things Halloween. He’s only 2 but somehow Halloween has become his favorite holiday. October is a particularly exciting month for him because not only is it Halloween but there are a ton of fun Halloween themed shows available. Originally released in…
