Insurance Paying for Home Birth: Update 2
Ok so here’s the latest on our Home Birth Insurance claim. I was told that my husband’s company policy only covers care from a Certified Nurse Midwife and not a Certified Professional Midwife, which is what we used. So now we are taking our case to his HR department since they specifically told him that midwifery care was covered but never stated there was a certain type of certification required.
Has anyone dealt with a situation similar to this?
Can we write an appeal to the insurance company?
