How old is your blog or long have you been blogging?
I have been blogging since February of this year but my blog is only 6 months old. I started with a Mommy blog but I gave that up to concentrate on blogging about my favorite hobby, cake decorating.
What made you choose the name of your blog?
It is kind of a play on words but I mostly chose it because Cakes by Kim was taken. I’m glad it was because I am much happier with the current title.
Why do you blog and what do you love about blogging?
I started blogging about cake decorating so that I can remember how I made all of my cakes. Now I do it because I love that I am helping people.
What are a few of your favorite posts on your blog? (include the direct URL links)
I’m partial to my first post…How to Make a Spiderman Bust Cake but I also love How to Make a 3D Lightning McQueen Cake and How to Make a Bassinet Cake
Are you married? If so, how long?
Yes, I have been married for 4 1/2 years now. I can’t believe how fast it has gone by.
Do you have children? If so, how many?
It has probably gone by so fast because we have 2 kids, ages 2 1/2 and 9 months.
What is your favorite movie?
That’s a tough one but I’d have to say Unbreakable by M. Knight Shamelan (sp?). I love all his movies though.
Who is your favorite actor?
I really love Jennifer Aniston. I’ll watch anything with her in it.
What is your favorite band or musician?
I think Jason Maraz is great. His songs take up most of my ring tones.
What is your favorite food?
I could eat ice cream 24/7, 7 days a week.
What is your favorite candy?
Peanut buttercups.
What else should readers know about you?
My blog has really evolved over the last few months. I now have more than just cake decorating guides. If you check us out you will find recipes, tutorials, a forum, giveaways, product reviews, and a shop where you can buy handmade items to give your cake a professional look without the cost.
On a more personal note, I’m a former Kindergarten teacher and now SAHM. I love being able to stay home with my boys. I discovered my love of cake decorating almost 2 years ago and I now get to decorate cakes for most of my friends and family. I really hope to open my own cake decorating shop someday. I love it more and more every day.
