Why Routine is Important for Kids

Routines help kids feed grounded and secure. They know what to expect and don’t have to worry about what will happen next. Kids who have a routine for mornings, meals, and bedtime can move through the process more easily and quickly.

Routines also help create family bonds. Children that regularly read with a parent before bed or have a special daily routine feel more connected to that family member. This sense of connection and reliability helps children to feel safe.

How Charts Help Children Learn

A chart is a way for children to visually see their routines and responsibilities. Charts are a great way for children to learn how to self-start tasks. They give children realistic and achievable goals that when completed boost the child’s self-esteem.

Giving your child ownership of their responsibility gives them confidence and makes them more resilient. Kids who learn responsibility at a young age grow up to be more successful, thoughtful, and self-assured.
