Week in My Life – Sunday 11/27
Sunday, the last day of Week in My Life. I’ve had a good time documenting my daily activities. It was tough but I’m glad I did it.
Sunday started off pretty normal.
7am – kids up playing with trains, Joe and I try to get a few more minutes of sleep
7:15am – Noah comes in to cuddle and plays Toca Boca Hair Salon on my phone.
7:30 am – Jude starts to make himself breakfast (We let Jude make breakfast – cereal and juice).
7:45 am – Noah wants to make breakfast too.
Joe and I are still in bed and we hear a bit of clanging around in the kitchen.
Me: “Joe, will you go check on the boys? It sounds like they are getting into stuff.”
Joe: “How much of a mess could they make?”
Noah enters the room.
Noah: “I spill it.
Us: “Uh-Oh”
Half a gallon of milk.
Then Simon starts crying from his crib upstairs.
I leave Joe to clean up the mess (complete with pulling out the stove) and deal with the big kids. While I’m upstairs I hear a big crash and Joe make a sound of pain. As he was getting the mop out of the hall closet a giant tub of Legos fell on his head and scattered across the floor. Jude offered to clean them up.
After the mess was cleaned up and we regrouped(there was bacon involved) the morning was back on track. We usually go to church but the milk/Lego incident of 2013 caused some serious delays so we opted to stay home. The boys watched a little TV then helped Joe clean out the garage. Simon took his nap. The boys ate lunch while Joe and I sat on the couch folding laundry and talking about our upcoming week.
Jude played on my computer (he loves PBSkids.org) while Noah and I read Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? like 500 times.
Then we took a family trip to Target. We have a rule that if you aren’t riding in a cart or stroller you have to hold on to the cart or stroller. Jude does really well with this most of the time.
After our Target trip Noah took his nap. Then Joe and I ate lunch, left over Pad Thai. Simon ate lunch and Jude played Legos.
Then I put Simon down for his nap while Joe and Jude played the Wii (Lego Star Wars). If Jude is good all week he gets to play a video game with Dada on Sunday. He LOVES playing video games but doesn’t understand moderation which is why we currently use it as a reward and not a regular activity (he gets a little worked up about it too).
While the littles napped and the bigs played video games I snuck out to do a few errands on my own. I love the Dollar Tree, everything is just $1! I bought a new broom since ours got a little gross in the clean-under-the-stove-milk incident this morning. It was only $1.
Then I stopped in the grocery store to pick up a few ingredients for a new recipe I’m working on. I’m not a big fan of our Lowes foods but it’s right up the road so when I need a few things I give in and shop there.
I spent the rest of the afternoon working on my new recipe and cleaning the kitchen.
Simon loved my new alfredo pasta dish (recipe coming soon).
The boys were pretty amped this evening so we tried some calming activities like reading books to get them ready for bed.
They had a little trouble getting to sleep, especially Noah. I think someone gave him coffee.
That concludes the Week in My Life. In case you were wondering, it was pretty typical week (chaotic messes and all).
I love my crazy boys, they always keep me own my toes.
