Our Tour of the Hospital

I’m sitting here filling out my pre-registration forms for the hospital, it so weird

The other night we took a tour of the hospital where baby 3 will be born. As many of you know, I’m a little nervous about our first hospital birth. I feel like it’s my 1st birth all over again, there is this whole air of uncertainty and it’s driving me nuts.

I knew that touring the hospital would help me feel more comfortable and I was right. Seeing the rooms, meeting the staff and learning about all of the hospital procedures gave me peace of mind. We are very fortunate to be with a hospital and OB that are so supportive of natural birth.

We were extremely pleased to learn that the hospital was in the process of updating policies that encourage mothers to delay the 1st bath, kangaroo care, breastfeeding and many other practices we prefer. Although we had to laugh a little as they explain that recent studies showed these findings that women across the globe have known for hundreds of years.

I’m actually starting to feel a little more comfortable with this whole hospital birth thing.

Now I just need to start planning on what I want to bring in my hospital bag.
