I like to think of myself as a fairly organized individual. I have a few well operating systems in place so our home runs smoothly. However, there are always areas that could use improvement especially as our family grows. With our recent move I found myself struggling to set up new organizational systems in certain areas, especially our home office.
I think I have a pretty good filing system down, my primary struggle is with organizing all of our various office supplies, craft supplies, and To-Be-Done projects. Deb Zechini of Order in the House is a professional organizer that helped me set-up an effective office. What would have taken me several days to work out she had finished in about an hour. (With occasional interruptions from a curious 2 year old.)

After we knocked out my desk she gave me some great tips on how to organize a few other trouble spots in my home. Like putting our medicines in a bin, on a top shelf, in the linen closet so curious little hands don’t get into them. Deb was wonderful to work with and ever so patient as I bounced between sorting through boxes and entertaining Jude. She’s a mom and understand the demands and challenges of running a home efficiently.

There’s something so sweet about giving your child a personalized gift, especially a cuddly blanket. Before I was introduced to Fill-in-the-Blankie I never thought about personalized blankets. But it makes perfect sense to give your child something heart-felt and warming. I love that Fill-in-the Blankie has a wide variety of blanket styles and even ranks…
I’ve always read to Jude. Even when he was two years old and couldn’t sit still for more than 10 seconds. I would speed through the shortest books I could find because it is important to me that my kids enjoy reading. When I was little reading was something you did before bed so now…
Washing dishes is never fun but if you can’t have fun at least make it look fun. You know I consider myself to be pretty “green” but I’d never thought about a reusable scrubber. I mean it makes perfect sense, not only is it good for the environment but is saves money. Once it gets…
I’ve been considering getting Jude a LeapPad for awhile now. He’s always interested in playing on his Grandma’s tablet but I wasn’t sure if his excitement would wear off if he had constant access to his own. Well, we’ve had the LeapPad Ultra now for about a week and he is as enamored with is…
Over the weekend we visited family and friends in Charleston, SC. It was a wonderful tip but boy was it hot. We spent a bit of time at the Isle of Palms on the beach which Jude absolutely loved. He spent a lot of time in the water, jumping waves and splashing. Being almost 2…
I love a comfortable summer dress. I can already tell I’m going to live in my new Effortless Raglan Dress from Fresh Produce. I wore it on Mother’s Day with a pair of tan flats and a fun scarf. It was the perfect mix of casual and dressy for a day out with my boys….
