Planet Earth Celebration 2011

Tomorrow, Saturday April 16th is the 2011 Planet Earth Celebration in downtown Raleigh.
Sponsored by Burt’s Bees and The North Carolina Museum of Natural Science this FREE outdoor event is sure to be a big hit with the entire family.
Activities Include:
  • Free Drive-through E-cycling – Bring your old electronics and we’ll find a new or safe home for all of their parts, ensuring that hazardous materials stay out of our landfills!

    • Chatham County Line – Performing at 1:15 & 2:45
    • Countdown Quartet – Performing at 4:15
    • Junkman – Performing throughout the day and leading the Trash March
  • The Trash March rollickin’ display of eco-fun!
  • Capitol Cardboard Constructionists of Paperhand Puppet Intervention (NC) and The Cardboard Tech Instant-tute (VT.) present a Corrugated Collaboration of Colossal Proportions, a virtual Cardboard Kingdom. Come Frolic in the Fabulous Fortress of Recycled Revelry.

  • The Junkman – played on over 100 intruments, Junk Music has gathered audiences from rock and jazz to classical and world fusion
