No-Cry Separation Anxiety Solution Book Review

·

Jude has always been an out-going child which is surprising since both Joe and I are somewhat shy introverted people. So we seldom had to deal with any separation anxiety until he turned 20 months old. The more aware he became of his surrounding the more cautious he became. I was surprise by this turn of events since I’d only ever know the child that never met a stranger. Luckily, I knew right where to turn. When he was younger we had a some sleep struggles until I discovered Elizabeth Pantley’s The No-Cry Sleep Solution

With the success we found in the No-Cry Sleep Solution I knew we’d find our answer for our separation anxiety in her newest book, The No-Cry Separation Anxiety Solution. What I particularly love about Pantley’s techniques is that she address the root of the problem and then offers a variety of proven solutions. I really like that Pantley addresses my insecurities as a parent and helps me realize that my problems are completely normal and that many other parents have been in my shoes and have successfully conquered their trials.

On of the most useful and simple tips I remember from the book is that you should never pass of your child to an unfamiliar face. Instead, place them in a neutral location so the child can adjust to the new surroundings and people. Reading the No-cry Separation Anxiety Solutions helps me to remember to look at the situation through the eyes of my child, trying to understand what they perceive is key to helping comfort them.
