Less Stress, More Magic: Our No-Kids Disney Packing Guide

·

Taking a quick adults-only trip to Walt Disney World? Whether you’re squeezing in a long weekend or planning a short escape without the kids (like we did!), packing smart can make all the difference—especially when it’s hot, humid, and your daily step count is pushing 30,000.

Pro Planning Tip: We recommend using Jessica Lieb with ET Family Travel to book your Disney vacation!

My husband and I recently took a whirlwind no-kids Disney trip and challenged ourselves to visit all four parks in one day. We packed light but intentionally, keeping comfort, weather, and convenience in mind. Here’s what we brought—and what we intentionally left at home.

What We Packed (and Loved)

Lightweight, Moisture-Wicking Clothing

We knew the Florida heat was going to be intense, so we packed breathable, moisture-wicking outfits that kept us cool while trekking through the parks. I particularly enjoy wearing bike shorts in the park to prevent chafing.

Comfortable Walking Shoes

We clocked over 30,000 steps during our 4-park day, so good shoes were a non-negotiable. We each brought a single, supportive pair we could trust.

Swimsuits for Pool Breaks

We made time to enjoy the Coronado Springs pool—a relaxing reward after a hot park day. A quick dip made us feel human again.

Outfit Change for the Evening

After sweating through the day, we loved having a fresh change of underclothes and lightweight outfits for a nicer dinner at our resort. I packed a casual sundress, and my husband wore a collared shirt and chinos.

Refillable Water Bottles

We drank a lot of water. Disney offers free refills at many quick-service locations, so bringing our own bottles was a must.

Portable Chargers

Between Genie+, photos, and ride notifications, our phones were working overtime. We packed two small portable chargers to keep everything powered up.

Sun Protection

We used a high SPF sunscreen for our faces and necks, plus SPF moisturizer and makeup. I also brought sunglasses and a few ways to throw my hair up during the day—hair clips, ties, and scrunchies were lifesavers.

Bags That Worked

We brought a small, lightweight backpack for our 4-park day. It had just enough space for a water bottle, chargers, sunscreen, and room for souvenirs. On other days, I carried a belt bag for essentials like my phone, lip balm, and charger.

What We Skipped (and Didn’t Miss)

Snacks & Heavy Park Gear

We didn’t pack a ton of snacks or bulky gear. Since this was an adults-only trip, we relied on grabbing snacks and meals as we went—which let us travel light and save space.

Extra Shoes

One solid, broken-in pair each was all we needed. No regrets there!

Hats

I wish I liked wearing hats, but I just don’t. So I made sure to double down on sunscreen, sunglasses, and hair ties instead.

Final Thoughts

Packing light for a Disney trip without kids is totally doable and honestly kind of freeing! We didn’t overthink it. We just packed smart for the heat, stayed mobile, and made room in our bags for what mattered most: fun, freedom, and a few souvenirs for the kids we left at home.
