Height Requirements at Disney World

Disney World is known for its family-friendly attractions, but not all rides are made for little ones. Several theme park and water park rides have a minimum height requirement.

When planning a Disney World vacation with children, you must know which rides your child can ride. Disney strictly enforces height restrictions to ensure all guests are safe while on the rides.

Why Height Requirements?

Certain rides and attractions at Disney World have height restrictions. Height restrictions are put in place for the safety of the guests. Disney cast members strictly enforce these restrictions for the safety of everyone. At the entrance of each ride, you will find measuring stations to ensure that riders meet the height requirement before boarding.

It’s best to check height requirements before your trip to avoid tearful children not yet tall enough to ride a specific ride.

Rider Switch

Disney World offers “Rider Switch,” which allows parents or guardians to take turns enjoying attractions while the other person supervises a child who cannot ride. Rider Switch helps families with young children or guests with disabilities make the most of their park experience without waiting in long lines. Talk to the Cast Member at the front of an attraction to set up Rider Switch.
