Birthing a baby is hard work. Being pregnant is hard work. That is why it is so important to stay hydrated during pregnancy and labor.
I go to the gym a few times a week. I remind myself that I’m training for a marathon, a birth marathon. I was in labor with Jude for over 20 hours. While I tried to remain focus on the task at hand my midwife and doula kept reminding me to drink so my body would have the sustenance it needed to finish strong. As I prepare for the birth of baby number 2 I am reminded how important it is to have plenty of liquids available to drink during labor.
The Nalgene Multidrink will be perfect for a long, or hopefully short, day of labor. It gives me the option to drink through the pivoting straw for sipping or loop top for big gulps. The pivoting straw also has a leak-proof lock which is nice with a 2 year old bouncing around the house. The Multidrink is bpa free yet still impact resistant and dishwasher safe. It holds 20oz. so I won’t have to get as many refills. Until delivery day I will be using the Multidrink at the gym while I train for my birthing marathon.

My boys love to paint. We have an excellent selection of painting supplies perfect for little artists. With each new holiday, they want to create a new project. For Halloween, we decided to create pumpkin art, but I wanted to try something new, so we made these fun paint-resistant crayon pumpkins. They are super easy…
On Saturday we took a little road trip to Greensboro, NC to see Yo Gabba Gabba Live. We kept telling Jude we were going to see Yo Gabba Gabba but he had no idea what we meant. Greensboro is just a little over an hour’s drive so we went a little early to have lunch…
I always have a hard time buying gifts for babies. You’d think it would be easy since baby things are so cute but I think that is the problem, they are too cute and I cant decide. But I think babies can always use cute and comfy pajamas. Check out these cute Jammies in a…
I’ve recently starting attending yoga classes at my local YMCA. Last month I vowed to try as many new exercise classes available and fell in love with yoga. The gym offers mats you can use during yoga class but there is something about using using your own mat which gives you a little more peace….
Most kids love playing dress-up. They don the outfits of their favorite characters and reenact scenes that mimic imaginary worlds or real life events. However, Jude has a hard time engaging in role-playing. He has a very strong sense of self and doesn’t pretend to be anyone other than himself. This may be related to…
Joe is a smart shopper and is always looking for the best deal, which is one of the many reasons I love him. Whenever we go shopping he always pulls out his smartphone. He’s either calculating price per unit, looking of more information about the product or even comparing prices at other stores. He uses…
