Birthing a baby is hard work. Being pregnant is hard work. That is why it is so important to stay hydrated during pregnancy and labor.
I go to the gym a few times a week. I remind myself that I’m training for a marathon, a birth marathon. I was in labor with Jude for over 20 hours. While I tried to remain focus on the task at hand my midwife and doula kept reminding me to drink so my body would have the sustenance it needed to finish strong. As I prepare for the birth of baby number 2 I am reminded how important it is to have plenty of liquids available to drink during labor.
The Nalgene Multidrink will be perfect for a long, or hopefully short, day of labor. It gives me the option to drink through the pivoting straw for sipping or loop top for big gulps. The pivoting straw also has a leak-proof lock which is nice with a 2 year old bouncing around the house. The Multidrink is bpa free yet still impact resistant and dishwasher safe. It holds 20oz. so I won’t have to get as many refills. Until delivery day I will be using the Multidrink at the gym while I train for my birthing marathon.

As you may know we’ve had several challenges with breastfeeding Noah. I pumped 6-10 times a day for over a month to supplement his feeding until he recently began to nurse. Because I need to build a large supply of pumped milk I also needed a way to keep everything organized. The Mother’s Milk Mate…

Simon is six months old and ready to join the family dinner table. And this shall be his throne…. Over the past few years, we’ve tried several different types of high chairs, and I haven’t really liked any of them until now. I got the Keekaroo Height Right high chair from Magic Beans and so…

Breastfeeding Noah has been a big challenge mostly in part to his tongue-tie issue. We are working very hard with him and are slowly seeing results as he learns to nurse. In the mean time I’m working on increasing my milk supply and teaching little Noah how to nurse. It’s not always easy but it…
I spend a good deal of money on back-to-school items. From notebooks and pens to school uniforms and shoes I would hate to have to replace things because they were misplaced. Labeling your child’s school possessions at least gives misplaced items a fighting chance to be reunited with their owner which is why I label…
