Birthing a baby is hard work. Being pregnant is hard work. That is why it is so important to stay hydrated during pregnancy and labor.
I go to the gym a few times a week. I remind myself that I’m training for a marathon, a birth marathon. I was in labor with Jude for over 20 hours. While I tried to remain focus on the task at hand my midwife and doula kept reminding me to drink so my body would have the sustenance it needed to finish strong. As I prepare for the birth of baby number 2 I am reminded how important it is to have plenty of liquids available to drink during labor.
The Nalgene Multidrink will be perfect for a long, or hopefully short, day of labor. It gives me the option to drink through the pivoting straw for sipping or loop top for big gulps. The pivoting straw also has a leak-proof lock which is nice with a 2 year old bouncing around the house. The Multidrink is bpa free yet still impact resistant and dishwasher safe. It holds 20oz. so I won’t have to get as many refills. Until delivery day I will be using the Multidrink at the gym while I train for my birthing marathon.

Living in NC you see tractors all the time. Even though we live in a “city” it’s still a city in North Carolina (the tobacco state). In fact, there was a huge section dedicated to tractors in our city Christmas Parade. Jude is just now learning about tractors and like most little boys finds them…
Toddlers can be finicky eaters but as a mom you still want them to eat foods that are healthy for them. Jude isn’t a super picky eater but he has his moments, especially when he finds something he really likes. I received a box of Tasty Baby Organic Fruit Snacks to review and when I…
Protect your smart phone with the 3M Natural View Screen Protectors. I know most blogging moms are always connected to the internet weather it’s through your ipad, iphone, droid or other smart phone. As a mom I’m always worried that my phone will get scratched or busted because of my multi-tasking. I know that protective…
In high school, I used to bring tuna salad and crackers for lunch almost every day. It was kind of my thing. I love a good tuna salad sandwich but somehow I went almost 20 years before I had a tuna melt. I know what you’re thinking, how is that possible? I have no idea…
We’ve tried a lot of diapers over the course of our cloth diaper experience and each one has it’s own benefits. I personally prefer a prefold and cover because I feel and AIO or Pocket diaper is a bit much to wash for a pee pee diaper. But at the same time I like the…
