Birthing a baby is hard work. Being pregnant is hard work. That is why it is so important to stay hydrated during pregnancy and labor.
I go to the gym a few times a week. I remind myself that I’m training for a marathon, a birth marathon. I was in labor with Jude for over 20 hours. While I tried to remain focus on the task at hand my midwife and doula kept reminding me to drink so my body would have the sustenance it needed to finish strong. As I prepare for the birth of baby number 2 I am reminded how important it is to have plenty of liquids available to drink during labor.
The Nalgene Multidrink will be perfect for a long, or hopefully short, day of labor. It gives me the option to drink through the pivoting straw for sipping or loop top for big gulps. The pivoting straw also has a leak-proof lock which is nice with a 2 year old bouncing around the house. The Multidrink is bpa free yet still impact resistant and dishwasher safe. It holds 20oz. so I won’t have to get as many refills. Until delivery day I will be using the Multidrink at the gym while I train for my birthing marathon.

We don’t get sick often in our house but when one of us does we always opt for natural remedies. So when we discovered Zarbee’s Children’s Cough Syrup I was excited but still skeptical. Not because I didn’t think it would work but because I was concerned about how “natural” it really was. After doing…
North Carolina has some crazy weather. I’ve seen hurricanes, tornadoes, snow and ice storms and extreme heat so it’s important to be ready for any kind of weather. Energizer understands that you need to be ready for anything so they created the Weather Ready Lights. These long lasting LED lights provide ample light when the…
Last year I shared how our family has a growing Christmas tradition of adding to our Christmas Book Basket. I love adding new Christmas books to our box each year. As the kids grow older we had more advanced reading options but also keep our old favorites. Throughout the month of December, we will read…
I’ve been using the same hair dryer since college. I won’t tell you how long it’s been but it is more than 10 years. I think it’s pretty impressive for a hair dryer, that I use almost every day, to sill be working so well. Then again, it is a Conair. I finally got a…

I’ve always been a broke girl. It’s become a way of life for me and at this point I’m used to it but that wasn’t always the case. In high school I got my first car, a 1987 Nissan Maxima that my soon-to-be-sister-in-law shared for a few months. One day we decided to hit up…
