A few weeks ago I wrote about the lack of kid-friendly restaurants out there and how most high chairs are disgusting. I know that kids aren’t the neatest eaters in the world, especially Jude. And when I go out to eat I try to clean up after our messy toddler however I don’t carry around a bottle of 409 and a vacuum.
The Balboa Baby Shopping Cart and High Chair cover can save you a lot of worry about whether or not you child is being exposed to unsanitary conditions. Jude typically doesn’t like to sit in the high chair or shopping cart for very long but on our recent grocery shopping trip he stayed put the entire time. I think he felt a little more safe in the cart with the cover. Also, he didn’t mind the safety strap at all, usually he fusses when I put it on. Finally, he liked using the taut fabric as a drum.
Pros: The Balboa has some of the cutest designs in high chair covers that I’ve ever seen. I like that it offers 360 degrees of a germ free zone and has easy one-hand installation. I also like the toy loops so you can attach toys and not worry about them falling on the floor. Also, a lot safety straps in high chairs are broken but the Balboa cover has a wide safety strap to keep baby safe. Finally,it’s multifunctional and works with both shopping carts and high chairs.
Cons: I had a bit of trouble figuring it out the first time I used it but it’s actually not that complicated to use once you get the hang of it. It claims you can put it on with one hand but I have yet to master that skill. Also, It does take up a good bit of room in your diaper bag.
Recommend: While I don’t think shopping cart covers are an essential baby item it does give me peace of mind when shopping and dining out. Additionally, Jude really liked sitting in it and it looks a lot more comfortable too. I think if you plan on buying a shopping cart/high chair cover you should most certainly buy a Balboa Baby.

Candy, Candy, Candy. That’s what I think of when someone says “trick-or-treat”. I hate passing out so much candy at Halloween but I also don’t want to be known as the house that passes out raisins (although my kids would love that!). Well, now I can omit candy and still be the cool house by…

I’m a minimalist when it comes to baby gear. I don’t want bulky, heavy baby gear that takes up a ton of space. With 3 kids I don’t have the time or energy to deal with extra stuff. So for the past 5 years we’ve primarily used a simple umbrella stroller. It’s light-weight, easy to…
When I was pregnant with Jude one of the first things I added to my registry was BabyLegs. I mean they are so adorable how could I not get a pair for my new baby? Here is Jude, only a few weeks old, wearing his first pair of BabyLegs. Today, he is 2 1/2 years…
To me the only think you can do with meatballs is put them on top of spaghetti all covered with cheese! I honestly never thought someone could write a cookbook solely around cooking with Meatballs.
