Handmade jewelry is my weakness. I’m picky when it comes to buying jewelry but when it’s been thoughtfully crafted by hand, I’m sold. There are so many talented creative people that have the patience to craft beautiful jewelry. Below 14th Designs offers some of the most beautiful pieces of jewelry I’ve seen.
I received a pair of Brass Bowl Earrings and I love them. I have an obsession with metal work, there is something so beautiful about the raw beauty of metal. I’m typically drawn to silver but I really love these brass earrings, they are quickly becoming my favorite earrings.
I have been operating out of my workspace over my garage since 2005.

Five years ago after a very stressful day as a brand new mom I went by a local craft store for a little project to work on. I picked up a beading kit. Jewelry design quickly became an obsession and Below 14th Designs was born. I am very inspired by things I find in nature and try to incorporate these ideas into my designs. All of pieces are either one of a kind or limited run.

The boys (including Joe) have developed mild colds. I always hate when they get sick in the spring. The weather is so gorgeous and we love to spend as much time outside as possible but sick little boys need to rest. Sick days are never any fun but we try to make the most of…
In a few short weeks we will have another little boy in our house. Baby 2 is set to arrive anytime now and while he will be using most of his big brother’s hand-me-downs I think it’s nice to get him a few new outfits that are all his own. I am particularly excited about…
Over the weekend we had a Disney Side celebration with family. Jude, Noah and Simon along with their 8 cousins threw themselves one awesome Disney party. Part of the fun of throwing a party is the planning and preparation so we let the kids take complete control of the party and they loved every minute….
The other night we had a family Pumpkin carving party. Well, mostly it was Joe and I cutting up pumpkins while the little ones looked on but Jude helped when possible and he absolutely loved it. He help clean out the pumpkin using the Pumpkin Masters scoop, he selected the Mummy Template and he traced…
Last week, we visited Carolina Beach, NC, for a week-long family vacation. We rented a little house (through Airbnb) near the beach and had much fun relaxing and exploring the area. We’ve been to Carolina Beach several times before, like that time we camped at Carolina Beach State Park or that day trip to the…
Last October Jude saw a preview for Spookley the Square Pumpkin, unfortunately we didn’t have a DVR last year so we weren’t able to watch Spookley. I looked for it at the store but couldn’t find it (I probably didn’t look all that hard because I WAS 41 weeks pregnant and all). But that didn’t…
