Easter Weekend

Easter is probably one of my favorite holidays. Not only because the weather is usually gorgeous but mostly because of what it means for me as a Christian. Easter, or Resurrection Sunday is the cornerstone of my faith. I mean without the resurrection Christianity would be a very depressing and hopeless religion. The sermon at my church yesterday was great and helped me see just how important the resurrection is to me. Church was great, spending time with my family was great, the weather was great… overall it was a fantastic weekend!

Joe worked a half day on Thursday and took off Friday so we had a nice long weekend. His parents and grandma came to visit too. We ate out a lot and spent a lot of time being entertained by Jude. Thursday night we went to our church’s Maundy Thursday service, which is a great time of reflection on the death of Christ. I think the part that I like best about Maundy Thursday is remember that Christ chose to die… he did accidentally walk into the crucifixion. It’s easy to get caught up in the gruesome torture and death of Christ and forget that he is GOD and knew exactly what he was doing and why.

I’ll post some pictures of our weekend soon.
