Joe and I watch a lot of movies at home. Like most parents we don’t have a lot of time or money to go out on elaborate dates so we love checking out new movies, especially absurd and funny movies. Needless to say I was very excited to review “Extract”the newest film from writer-director, Mike Judge. I mean Mike Judge + Jason Bateman = Genius!
I hate spoilers so I’ll keep it fairly vague. “Extract” is what I would call a comedic drama, meaning that it’s funny and a bit emotional all at the same time. The situations are absurd but not completely implausible. The characters are real, people that could very well be us, our neighbors or co-workers, you can relate to these people. Everything isn’t perfect but it all wraps up in the end. (Which I really like.)
About Extract
The creator of OFFICE SPACE, writer-director Mike Judge (BEAVIS AND BUTT-HEAD), moves from cubicles to the assembly line with EXTRACT — his outrageous return to workplace comedy, featuring a hilarious ensemble cast of quirky characters. About to sell his successful flavor extract company, life is almost sweet for Joel (Jason Bateman) until a freak on-the-job accident happens. Add to that his bored wife (Kristen Wiig), his laid-back, stoner best friend (Ben Affleck), a sexy con artist (Mila Kunis) who blows into town with dollar signs in her bedroom eyes, and a dumb gigolo — and life as he knows it turns sour. Filled with laugh-out-loud one-liners and raunchy comedy, EXTRACT is 100% pure hilarity.

We love music and we love to dance. We’ve been listening to the Alvin and The Chipmunks Squeakquel Soundtrack a lot lately. Jude loves to learn new dance moves and is gradually learning the words to some of the songs. It’s fun to watch his verbal and motor skills develop while we’re having a fun…
I’m not a natural when it comes to make-up. I usually apply too little make-up or use the wrong tools to apply my make-up. Well, I’m excited about the new ecoTOOLs 6 piece Eye Brush Set and Bronzer Brush because each tool tells you exactly how to use it. Printed on the handle of each…
A few weeks ago Joe and I had a much needed date night to attend an advanced screening of the new romantic comedy, About Time. It looked like a cute movie but to be honest my expectations weren’t too high, mostly because I didn’t know too much about the film. Both Joe and I were…
I love stripes. Which is why I picked the Nautical Shawl Collar Sweater in rose and orange stripe as my review item from 525 America. I love this sweater. In addition to it being cute and comfortable it’s also very well made. I’ve only worn it once but have received numerous compliments on it. I…
Over the weekend Jude and I took a trip to our local Food Lion to check out the newest updates. Food Lion has been making some big changes in their stores and we had to check it out. I grew up shopping at Food Lion and have fond memories of shopping with my mom at…
Every Christmas my family has a big family get-together where we celebrate Christmas by eating too much and exchanging gifts. You know just like everyone else in America. My family is pretty big so it’s hard to have full place setting for everyone. We typically have some cobbled together, mismatched pieces of tableware and while…
