Moby Wrap Review + Giveaway
I’m a big supporter attachment parenting so when I was pregnant with Jude I knew for sure I wanted a baby wrap of some sort. Some friends bought us a sling carrier that we have now out-grown. All along I secretly wanted a Moby Wrap but felt silly buying a second carrier. So when I was offered the chance to review Moby Wrap I was super excited. I was also very excited to see the Born Free Moby Wrap, a custom wrap designed by Tracy Ginsberg for the makers of The Business of Being Born. (A must-see documentary for every pregnant woman.) A portion of the proceeds of each sale will be donated to Coalition For Improving Maternity Services (CIMS).
Even though Jude is on the bigger side for the Moby we tried it out (I used the hip hold method) and he seemed to like it fairly well. Compared to other wrap type carries I particularly like that Moby uses wide fabric make both you and the baby feel secured. I previously tried another style wrap that was too stretchy and left the baby drooping too low, but the Moby is offer just the right balance of firm and stretchy fabric. Overall I would give the Moby wrap two big thumbs up.
Thoughts From Friends: (both used their Moby Wrap with a newborn)
Amy mother to Micah – “I LOVE mine! The Moby wrap was essential for us. I like that it fits snugly, does not have straps or buckles, and holds the child very snugly up against me. It was crucial for getting my son to sleep during the early months. The wrap transfers easily between me and my spouse, and neither one of us had difficulty figuring out how to wrap and tie it correctly and easily. With washing and drying it stayed tight. Moms usually find breastfeeding in the Moby to be easy and discreet, although I am not coordinated enough to figure it out. The downside to the Moby wrap is the commitment – if you’re going to use it, it’s just easiest to leave it on for a long time that day. It can be warm, especially in the summer months in the South.
