Blogger of the Week: Lilkidthings
This week’s Blogger of the Week is Andrea from Lil-Kid-Things.
How long have you been blogging? 6 years!
What made you choose the name of your blog? Lilkidthings is actually a Will Ferrell quote from the outtakes of the movie Zoolander. I am a huge Will Ferrell fan so it seemed like the perfect fit for my online personality. Once I became pregnant, I knew it would be even better as my blog name and thus, Lilkidthings.com was born!
Why do you blog and what do you love about blogging? I started blogging because I love the internet. I thought it was super cool that you could talk to people you didn’t even know! Total computer geek! Then I realized how great it was to go back through and basically relive the highlights of my days. When I got engaged the blog turned wedding central and now that I have a son, it’s all about babies! I blog to remember, to write and to build community with people from all walks of life. It’s been especially wonderful now that I stay at home full-time. It helps me stay connected!
What are some special features of your blog? I love to blog honestly about my struggles and victories. Since having a baby, weight-loss has been at the forefront of my mind, so I established Love Handle 911 where women can come to commiserate and share ideas to promote health and well-being both physically and mentally! This is a fairly new feature to Lilkidthings and I hope to grow this area of my blog into a community of people who can give each other that push in the right direction that we all need! I also blogged about my DIY Wedding and various projects that are ever being added to the list!
Are you married? If so, how long? Yes! I have been married for 2 years and counting!
Do you have children? If so, how many? We have one 9 month old son named Oscar, and a 13 year old Border Collie named Krusty 😉
What is your favorite movie? Oh boy, this is so hard. I do love Will Ferrell movies, but my FAVORITE movie would have to be Life is Beautiful. It’s such an amazing depiction of fatherhood and sacrifice. Though I am afraid that now that I have a son I would sob for the whole thing!
Who is your favorite actor? Loving Paul Rudd! And as always, Will Ferrell.
What is your favorite band or musician? I just discovered Andrew Bird and he is rocking my world right now. I don’t know where I have been…
What is your favorite food? This one is easy. Mediterranean! You could pretty much put feta cheese on anything and it becomes my new favorite.
What is your favorite candy? Before last weekend (Halloween), I would have said candy corn. Now I am not so sure….
What else should readers know about you? I love to find the happy in everyday things. My hope is that my blog is a place to connect with people by sharing the little things that often go overlooked. Come on over and join the fun!
