During a recent trip to Jamaica, I had the pleasure of staying at Sandals South Coast. This adult-only, all-inclusive resort is located in Whitehouse, Jamaica, in a 500-acre wilderness preserve. The resort spans a 2-mile stretch of the pristine south coast of Jamaica. Guests will enjoy Sandals’ signature activities in the natural beauty of Jamaica’s southern coast.

About Sandals South Coast

Sandals South Coast is located about a two-hour drive south of Montego Bay airport. The turquoise waters of the Jamaican coastline inspired this resort. The secluded paradise provides a peaceful retreat from the business of everyday life.

Accommodations

There are 15-room categories at Sandals South Coast, ranging from the Blue Mahoe Overwater Villas to to the Bamboo Palm Room with a balcony and tranquility soaking tub and everything in between. The rooms are decorated with warm wood tones and tranquil neutral tones with pops of color that complement the natural surroundings. Luxury-level rooms come stocked with a mini-bar offering water, soda, Mondavi Twin Oaks wine, and beer. Club and Butler-level rooms also include a variety of liquors and complimentary room service. All rooms feature an outdoor space, such as a balcony or patio, to enjoy the tropical breeze.

There are 9 restaurants at Sandals South Coast, including authentic regional specialties from Italian, Asian, and Mediterranean to Caribbean, Jamaican, and more. There are also 2 food trucks where guests can enjoy tacos or chicken tenders on the beach or by the pool.

My favorite restaurants were Eleanor’s and Jasmine’s. The breakfast buffet at Bayside offered a variety of options, including local Jamaican fruits and dishes. The chicken tenders and jerk fries from Chick’n Dippers were perfect for a mid-day meal by the pool.

Activities

The Pool

Sandals South Coast offers a wide range of activities throughout the day. Guests can spend their day lounging by the pool or relaxing on the beach. The main pool is where you will find most entertainment and activities, such as trivia, games, and music. Several other quiet pools are located throughout the property for those who prefer a more serene environment.

The Beach

The beach at Sandals South Coast is part of a private nature preserve and is perfect for a romantic walk. Although the ocean bottom can be rocky, there are sandy spots to enjoy and plenty of areas for snorkeling offshore. The entire resort is designed to embrace the coastline along a 2-mile stretch of the south coast of Jamaica.

Water Sports

Guests can enjoy an array of motorized and non-motorized water sports, all included with the price of their stay. Activities include waterskiing and wakeboarding, tubing, kneeboarding, aqua trikes, snorkeling, glass-bottom boats, Hobie cat sailing, windsurfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, snuba, and scuba diving for certified divers.
