Kid-friendly Restaurants in Raleigh, NC

· ·

As a family of 6, we don’t go out to eat a ton, but when we do, we like to go to places that are great for the whole family. Sometimes, that means a diverse menu, sometimes a fun environment, but it always means a place where the kids are welcomed.

There are a lot of fast food and major chain restaurants around town, but I’m not going to include those in this list. This is a list of locally owned-or small-chain restaurants that my family loves.

Neomonde, Sassool, Sitti – All of these restaurants are owned by the same family, and they are excellent at accommodating families. Neomonde and Sassool are market/counter service eateries, while Sitti is a table service restaurant. They all serve amazingly delicious Lebanese food that my kids love. We primarily take our kids to Neomonde or Sassool because it’s easier to get in and out quickly with kids. But we have had amazing, family-friendly service at Sitti.

Big Ed’s City Market Restaurant -Probably the best breakfast in Raleigh, Big Ed’s has been serving Raleigh since 1958. With 2 locations, City Market and North Raleigh, you can get breakfast or lunch on most days.

Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar – A small chain restaurant with 2 locations in Raleigh, is a great place for the family to eat great burgers.

Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar – We love Cowfish, they have an excellent menu for everyone. This is a great place to take the family if you are celebrating something special. Sometimes, there can be a little bit of a wait on busy days, so plan your dining time accordingly.

Guacasa – Venezuelan Arepas made to order. There is no kid’s menu, but you can build everyone’s meal to their liking.

Raleigh Times Bar – Raleigh Times is a popular downtown restaurant/bar with delicious food and a great new kid’s menu. Parent’s check out the excellent beer selection and the NC BBQ Nachos! They also have rooftop seating.

Mami Nora’s & Alpaca – Both of the restaurants are owned by the same family. Charcoal-roasted Peruvian Chicken with tasty sides like yucca fries, tostones, maduros, beans, and rice.

Cafe Carolina – Sandwiches, Soup, and Salads for the whole family, plus the best cupcakes ever. This counter-service restaurant makes it easy to order and eat quickly with kids.

Nantucket Grill – New-England style cuisine is served at this table service restaurant that has good food and even better cake. They often have special events like Free Cake with Adult Entree Night or Magician Night.

Armadillo Grill – Counter service Tex-Mex that is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Create your taco, burrito, nachos… your way.

Going out to eat with kids doesn’t have to mean bland food for the adults. There are plenty of restaurants that are family friend and have fantastic food.
