Flatbread Tuna Melt with Bacon and Avocado
In high school, I used to bring tuna salad and crackers for lunch almost every day. It was kind of my thing. I love a good tuna salad sandwich but somehow I went almost 20 years before I had a tuna melt. I know what you’re thinking, how is that possible? I have no idea but ever since that first taste I knew it was meant to be. I and tuna melt BFF.
Well since that first melt, over 10 years ago, I have been trying to create the ULTIMATE TUNA MELT, and well folks, I think I’ve done it.
Tuna Salad
Bacon
Tomato
Cheddar Cheese
Avocado
all toasted in a soft Flatout Foldit
It’s like a little piece of heaven has entered the earth, fallen on my plate, traveled down my esophagus, and filled my belly with all of its goodness. Or something like that.
Basically, I took my favorite grilled cheese sandwich recipe and added tuna salad and BAM! Awesomeness.

Mmm, now I want a tuna melt!! I’m not a fan of tomatoes, but otherwise your sandwich looks divine!
If you haven’t tried already, you would probably enjoy tuna turnovers. I cheat and use read to bake biscuits, but you could also make your own biscuits. Flatten the biscuit, filled with your tuna salad and cheese, fold over and crimp to seal. Then bake until the biscuits are golden brown. Sooo good.
Wow that sounds delicious. I would have never thought to put tuna in a biscuit but it sounds amazing! Thanks for the tip.
This sounds so good! I never would have thought to pair tuna and bacon, but why not?? 🙂
Kylie that’s my thought about anything and bacon. Should I add bacon? Why not!
I am not a fan of tuna but your recipe looks delicious! Thanks you!
My husband would love this!
