The Great Pumpkin Fest at Carowinds

· ·

Yesterday Joe and I took the boys to Carowinds for The Great Pumpkin Fest. I hadn’t been to Carowinds since I was in high school so I really had no idea what kind of rides and activities they would have for kids, especially little kids. I was very pleased to learn they had a ton of rides and activities for children including The Great Pumpkin Fest which takes place every Saturday and Sunday during the month of October. The Great Pumpkin Fest is great fun for the whole family offering special activities with Snoopy and his friends throughout Planet Snoopy.

In addition to all the regular fun offered for children in Planet Snoopy, The Great Pumpkin Fest includes:

  • A Hale Bale Maze
  • Foam Zone
  • Fraidy Cat Puppet Show
  • Mumpkin Patch
  • Peter the talking Pumpkin
  • Kiddie-oke
  • Peanuts Spooktacular Show
  • Trick or Treating
  • Costume Parade
  • Peanuts Dance Party

We also rode many of the rides in Planet Snoopy, most of which Jude was tall enough to ride and others Noah was able to ride with the accompaniment of an adult. We also watched the Peanuts Spooktacular Show which Simon absolutely loved.

We had a blast! The kids love getting candy from the designated Trick or Treat sections, watching the live performances and meeting the Peanuts characters. We even ate caramel apples, Jude and Noah had their first taste of caramel apples and they loved them. Simon wanted to try mine but I didn’t want to share (plus he’s a baby and doesn’t have enough teeth.)

The only disappointing part of our day was how incredible hot it was, too hot for a day in October. Luckily, Carowinds has plenty of shaded areas to sit and cool off. I’m looking forward to taking the boys back to Carowinds since I know they have so many great family fun features.

The Great Pumpkin Fest activities are included with the price of admission. The Pumpkin Fest is held every Saturday and Sunday during the month of October from 12 – 5pm.
Daytime ticket prices start a $38.99 (children 2 and under are free).
