Last weekend Joe and I had a date night. We try to go on 1 date each month but I think we’ve only managed 2 dates this year, unless you count that time we went to the emergency room when I stabbed myself with a knife?

My mom watched the older boys and we got all dressed up.

Since Simon is still breastfeeding and refuses to take a bottle he got to be our 3rd wheel. Breastfeeding while wearing a dress can be difficult and awkward unless you like pulling a full length dress over your head. PinkBlush Maternity sent me this super cute Red, Black & Green Chevron Print Maxi Dress and even though I’m no longer pregnant it works great for breastfeeding.

Because it’s a strapless maxi I can nurse over the top (I still had to wear a nursing bra hence the cardigan). I typically prefer nursing “under” instead of “over” clothing but it actually worked pretty well and I didn’t feel too exposed thanks to the cardigan. And even though this is “technically” a maternity dress because of the simple cut and design no one would be able to know.

We had such a lovely evening out and Simon was the perfect third wheel. I can’t wait for our next date night!
