Last Sunday we celebrated Jude’s 3rd birthday with a small gathering of family and friends. Jude spent the afternoon swimming in my parents pool, playing with his cousins and enjoying cake and ice cream. All of his favorite things. He recently discovered the Cars movies and with the recent release of Cars 2 I though it would be appropriate and fun to have a Cars 2 themed birthday party.
Since I just gave birth the weekend prior I knew I didn’t want to put forth too much effort into decorating but I did want to make it fun and special. Birthday Express has a huge selection of Cars 2 themed decorations. I particularly loved the Disney’s Cars 2 personalized banner, it was a great way to make the decorations special.
The kids loved the balloons and streamers. Birthday Express sent us a cool foil balloon which accidentally got popped (sad face), a whole selection of latex balloons and helium tank. We attached the streamers to the fan and they thought that was awesome. The disposable table cloths, plates, napkins and cups made for easy clean up after the party was over.
I can say with certainty that Jude loved his party and that all the kids found the decorations to be a big hit.

I love the smell of fresh laundry. I buy candles and home fragrances that smell like clean laundry. I used to use dryer sheets years ago but they seemed kind of wasteful, use a sheet once and then throw it away. So when I was given the chance to review the new Bounce Dryer Bar…
Birthing a baby is hard work. Being pregnant is hard work. That is why it is so important to stay hydrated during pregnancy and labor. I go to the gym a few times a week. I remind myself that I’m training for a marathon, a birth marathon. I was in labor with Jude for over…
I don’t wear make-up everyday but I do like to look nice for dates, special occasions or just on days when I’m feeling super girly. One of the main reasons I don’t wear a lot of make-up is because of all the chemicals that are used in most makeup. Jenulence makeup is great because they…
I grew up watching Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood. Everyday I would change my sweater and shoes and sing along with Mr. Roger. That show is one of my all time favorite children’s program and I’m so happy that The Fred Rogers Company is creating new programing based on Fred Roger’s Land of Make Believe. Daniel Tiger’s…
A few nights ago I had the pleasure of attending a local blogger dinner at Noodles & Co. Four local bloggers and families met at the Cary Crossroads Plaza location for a lovely dinner sponsored by Noodles & Co. We were a bit late because the weather and traffic was horrible but the staff was…
I’ve been very hesitant to write this post because I want to be sensitive to Jude but I also want to share information that other parents might find useful. So for now I’m just going to share MY story. For years Joe and I have struggled with parenting Jude. He’s a very sweet, kind and…
