Cisco Valet Router Review + Giveaway + Facebook Contest

Being an IT professional, Joe is constantly trying to improve our home networking/computer set-up. Most of the time I have no idea what he is talking about or doing but I do appreciate having his skills around and working internet. Here are his thoughts on the installation and operation of the Cisco Valet Router.

The Cisco Valet router is easy to setup from a PC with wireless networking capability using the provided USB key.  It also comes with a unique SSID and administrator password right out of the box so you don’t have to spend time locking it down like most home routers.  The Valet is powerful enough for today’s typical home user, and has some advanced features under the hood, such as QoS and robust Parental Lock/Content filters, which make it ideal for streaming movies; Playing XBox, Wii and PC games; and frustrating your teenage son.
