Thanks Hannah. It’s not often that non-parents are supportive of parents this way so thank you. I remember before I had kids thinking, oh my kid is never going to throw a tantrum in the store…. haha I was so ignorant. Kids will throw tantrums but it all depends on how the parents handle the situation.

I don’t have kids yet and HATE when parents either a) just let their kid scream and scream and scream , or b) give in to the screaming.
If your kid is having a tantrum in a store, either make them mind or take them out and punish them. But Please don’t just ignore them so the rest of the store has to listen to the screaming and wailing!

She spiraled to totally out of control and took down her pants to express her frustration with me {all while screaming}. I disciplined her with all eyes on me — took away some privileges. The checkout lady just stared at me like I was nuts, so I said, “Would you like for her to grow up to be a respectable member of society or would you prefer that I just let her get her way?”
