Most of our baby stuff is used, either found at garage sales or given to us by friends. We were given cloth diapers from a friend whose daughter had just outgrown the small sizes; she also gave us a few toys and a floor mat for tummy time. Bouncy seat $10 at a garage sale. Baby bath tub $2. Changing table $30. Our new stuff is just clothes, hooded towels, blankets, and even quite a bit of that is used.

I bought a breast pump at a garage sale for $10 because I knew they were expensive and I hadn't given them much thought or done any reading about them. So I decided to gamble that I could use it with some thorough cleaning, and I was okay with being out the $10 if it turned out not to be a good idea. I haven't even unpacked it from the box, though I have done some reading that suggests used breast pumps should have certain parts replaced before using them. I think I might just get a new manual pump (I like the looks of the Lansinoh with the comfort guard thing); clearly, I wouldn't use it often.
